With wedding season winding down considerably and autumn on its way out, life is throwing up lots things to do, conveniently at the quieter time of year for us wedding photographers. In this post I have some autumn wedding photography inspiration for you all with, Millie and Tristan's engagement shoot.
Further in I also have Do You Believe Bridal's Styled shoot in Brecon, and also some news on my wedding planning and life behind the camera. Becky and I have been pretty lucky in South Wales and the South West with the weather. I’ve had a few days in Cardiff and in Bristol where the sun has been on our side. I’ve also been lucky enough to speak with Brides and Grooms at the engagement shoots that I shot. I showed you Beth and Dafydd’s sneak peek and I have some more from them now.
Many of you may now that I also shoot wedding videography, I have everything for that on a different site and I'm moving it over slowlu. I’m shooting Millie and Tristan’s big day next year. I decided to offer them a free photography engagement shoot. We had tons of fun just around the corner at Cosmeston lakes.
Millie and Tristans Penarth Engagement Shoot
I absolutly love my job, photographing a couple in love before they get married hardly feels like work. I think it's important to spend some quality time with couples before their wedding day. It's really important for them to feel like their friend is there with a camera and not some formal impersonal face behind a camera.
Brecon styled shoot
I had the pleasure of working with the girls at Do You Believe Bridal. Helen, who owns the shop, is amazing, she really is one of the most friendly bridal shop owners I’ve met. I had tried getting up to Brecon earlier in the year but our schedules didn’t line up. I'm so glad that we did manage to get up there as the light was beautiful. Shooting in the Autumn meant that the light was amazing but it's also a little chilly. We need to say a massive thanks to Scarlett and Sandra for being absolute pros and helping get these awesome shots. I do think that we take where we live here in South Wales for granted.
Do You Believe Bridal Shoot Brecon
We have Brecon right here on our doorstep and it's breathtaking. I keep telling Becky that we need to get up there more often. If you haven't been up you really should walk up Pen y Fan. The easiest way to do it is to park by Storey Arms activity center and walk up 'the motorway'. That's what they call the path, as its the most popular route amongst visitors. It's prob better to wait for spring now and always check the weather and give your self plenty of time to get up and down with the light.
I highly recommend popping into the Do You Believe shop. They're in Newport and have tons of great dresses with really friendly staff.

Hey guys! Hope you're all having a great autumn so far. As well as looking forward to our own wedding next year (only 8 and half months away now) we’re in the process of buying our first home! It’s been a hectic few weeks, with lots of nail biting waiting, but hopefully it will all be finalised in the next couple of weeks and we can be in before Christmas! The house is closer to the sea, so we’re really looking forward to getting out for more walks and taking pictures. Now Halloween and Bonfire Night have been and gone it’s starting to feel more festive-I’ve even had my first gingerbread latte of the year-all we need now is the Coca Cola advert. Holidays are coming! It’s definitely my favourite time of year, it’s going to be difficult holding off putting up the decorations before the move. I guess we’ll have to settle for Elf the movie and festive food.
The planning for our wedding has been on the back burner with so much going on. It’s definitely a must to have a bit of a timeline in mind or a basic outline of what needs to be booked and by when. We’ve been guilty of letting this slide and now we’re starting to feel like we need to get on with it. If you have an exact idea of who or what you want from caterers and other suppliers, it's better to book them early to avoid being disappointed. We're being fairly open minded with a general idea of what we want so that it's not as stressful. It's more about having a great party and spending it with our friends and family than anything else. For all the lovely bride and grooms to be check out these guys...
